The HSC Storm prides itself on being a highly competitive soccer team that keeps soccer life in balance with other important areas in the lives of well-adjusted teenage girls. Soccer fundamentals and unselfish team play are emphasized and rewarded in a high intensity, low pressure environment. Playing time is not equal, but all players are afforded the opportunity to start and play meaningful minutes at multiple positions. The Storm's goal is to develop well rounded soccer players who will have the opportunity to be starters and stand-outs on their high school teams and enjoy a life-long passion for soccer, while remembering their time on the Storm as a special time in their lives.
A collection of highly athletic girls, the players demand flexibility and are encouraged to participate in other sports and extracurricular activities. Social connectivity between the players and the player's extended families is encouraged in a unique way. As a result, the team has adopted a philosophy of limited player turnover from year to year, but each year has added a very select number of talented players that share the team ideals.
The Storm's season lasts all year long, with participation in competitive Fall, Winter (indoor) and Spring leagues and tournament play each summer. The greatest emphasis is placed on the Fall season. The team is gearing up for a memorable tournament travel trip during the summer of 2010.
